I may have posted about this before, but it continues to happen. My Sassy, who doesn't like affection, won't get in my lap, doesn't really like to be petted. But she wants me to watch her eat. And she curls up behind my feet when I'm sitting outside. Is this her way of showing that she trusts me?

She may not completely trust you but she is comfortable around you. I am not sure how long you have had her so it may take more time for her to develop a bond with you.

Thanks Lisa. I've had her three years plus. She has been this way since I got her. I've always had cats that craved and sought out affection, but that is not Sassy at all.
I understand. My Indie was like that and I have had him since birth. For the first few years he did not want to be held or petted. Now he loves to be petted and held.

Sorry to say… it took my 3 feral born littermates 7 years to fully trust me! Good luck with your girl! Not sure if this is true but ive heard cats like a “look out” during litterbox or eating

I've never heard the eating thing before, just goes to show you they're all so different. Nigel would practically leap into the car but in all those years I've probably seen him only once in the box. Marco needs to be in the bathroom if my wife is in there. After seven years I'm the only one that can pick up Andy.
Then there's dogs and what I'll call the hokey pokey since it's a Sunday. What is that? Maybe dogs are big fans of Being There.
