My cat Frisky boy sadly passed away today. He was diagnosed with diabetes i October. I had to rush him to the vet on Tuesday because he was laying down and had peed on the bed. And he was making this very low moaning with every breath. The doctor said he was a complicated case.. They wanted to do so many tests but i didn't have money for it cause i had become unemployed a few weeks ago. So all they did was blood test and got him hydrated. He had stopped eating a day before and was drinking even less than he was a week before. He also was just licking and slurping his food from the weekend before. He lost his appetite and i had to force feed him the last week of his life. The vet said besides diabetes, he had Pancreatis, he had become anemic from the time of his last visit, less than two months earlier. And something called Acromegaly which probably caused his diabetes initially. They said his abdomen looked bloated as well, and his spleen most likely needed to be removed. So, i hope you can bring me some peace and closure by answering as to what most likely killed my cat. And were the vets completely honest with me. I will get all the test results from them, and message you again once you reply me back. Thank you i very much appreciate it.

I don't know enough to help you understand what happened to Frisky, but I do want to say I am very sorry for the loss of your sweet boy.
Frisky's spirit is at peace and flying free now. I hope you find some comfort knowing that he is no longer in distress and you were there for him.

So sorry to hear about your Frisky, always so sad when you lose a loved kitty. My Crystal also has acromegaly, real bummer of a disease, but we do the best we can. Sending prayers and hugs to you on your loss.

:rb_icon:I'm so sorry to hear about your sweet Frisky. We all do as much as we can. You did everything you could for him, sometime it just isn't enough. I hope someone here can helo you fing the answers you need.

I am so sorry about the loss of your sweet Frisky.:bighug: It's clear how much you loved him.

Acromegaly can be tough on cats. Neko has it too. There is excess growth hormone being produced that can cause the diabetes. It can also result in organ and soft tissue growth. The enlarged or pot belly can be part of it and heart and kidney issues are common.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your Frisky. Sometimes we can't get the answers that we want and just have to accept but if you let us know the test results we'll do our best to help you to figure it out. Take comfort in the fact that you did the best you could for your boy :bighug::bighug::bighug:and that he isn't suffering anymore. RIP Frisky :rb_icon:

I see "JD" in your cat's name, too. I just want to send you some hugs, because I know how hard it is.
My buddy J.D. had multiple health issues, and I came home from work one day and he had passed on. I don't know what it was from, and that does bother me. I hope it was just his time, as he was a little older than most.
Sending peace and comfort vines to you.

I am so sorry for your loss of Frisky. My Mannie was also a complicated case the last few weeks of his life, having many of the things, as well as others, that Frisky had. We do all that we can to help them. I know you did too. Sometimes things are just out of our hands, despite how much we try and help. I hope time will ease the sense of loss. He will always be with you in spirit. Fly free Frisky. cat_wings>o

Frisky is no longer in pain. You did the best you can and he loved you!

I'm so sorry that you lost him. Don't torture yourself with trying to figure out what went wrong. My punkin also had acromegaly and it is very hard on the body. Punkin also developed anemia and that can have a bad effect on the heart.

It's clear you loved Frisky and I'm sure you did everything you could for him

Rest in peace, little one.

Your fine Frisky is at peace now and he'll watch over you until you meet again. We are deeply sorry for your loss.
Fly Free, sweet Frisky!

Sending prayers and vines to you . So sorry for your loss. It is always so hard to lose a furry friend. I hope you find the peace you are looking for.

Very sorry on the loss of your sweet Frisky. It's never easy, but you did what you could for him, and obviously loved him, so he was fortunate to have a caring caretaker. RIP Frisky.

So sorry this happened. Frisky is at peace now and I'm sure he's had a good life, as good as you could give him. There's very little we can do sometimes, try to accept what happened. It's not your fault. (HUGS)
