My cat is having a glyco. I tested her and she was under 40 (2.0 mmol) and I then administered honey and food, and tested again 15 minutes later and BG had risen to 43 (2.4 mmol) . I have just given her some more honey and food. It is late night here and no vets are open. Please help. thanks. Dan

you've done the right thing.
test again in 15 minutes and post your number ok.

how long since the shot was given and how much was it?

How is your kitty acting? Is she eating okay? You might want to just give her little bits at a time, so she won't get too full, in case you will need to feed her through the night.
How many hours ago did you shoot the insulin? And how much?

Sorry Cindy, I posted the same time as you.

Thanks Cindy and Mousie. I gave her PMS at 9.15 and her latest BG is rising. She is now at 4.2 mmol/ ( 78mg). I will keep a close watch on Baby (that's her name). She didn't have any of the symptoms. Tank goodness I tested her. She's had a few seizures in the past and I'm generally pretty good with the BG monitoring, but she was drinking a lot of water and I gave her the usual shot without testing tonight. Boy, that was a mistake. Dan

My kitty J.D. drinks water when he's going low, too.
Good catch tonight. I'm glad you're hometesting her.
You can come back to ask questions, anytime.

Glad you caught it and had stuff on hand to intervene!
Question...how many hours from the time you gave the shot until the test which gave you low numbers?
