Hi everybody,
I've been making The Recipe for over a year and a half now, my Frazzle has been non-diabetic since after just a couple of months of being on the food & all has been going great until recently. The last couple of batches I've made have a strange smell to it, which I can best compare to salty seaweed. I don't think the food is bad mind you, but the fragrance is a bit disconcerting. I'm EXTREMELY careful about making sure the chicken/livers have kept cold until I start prepping, & that proper refrigeration is maintained after cooking. Since we have 10 cats I just make it for everybody, which has me making about 40 pounds a week. Obviously I appropriately increase the amount of ingredients to go w/ the amount of chicken, but I'm wondering if maybe the iodized salt amount is too high & should be decreased, or the amount of liver? I just don't know! Has anyone else run into this issue or otherwise have any pearls of wisdom to share? The cats do eat it, although not exactly voraciously. Of the bunch there's only 1 cat who I have to bribe to eat it by adding a little (grain free) dry food (yes, I know, the bane dry food...but it's a high quality & is also the staple of my hedgehogs diet). Anyone have any ideas? Thank you in advance!
