I bought a fountain yerterday because I find that my deibetic cat Monkey who has , is quite picky on his water. Often that if I give him a water bowl, he wont drink, but if I drip the water from a pot, then he would drink it. He always like to drink moving water from hose.
The question is, now I have a new fountain, he drinks from water bowl instead of the new fountain. I do not understand why.
Here are the reason I guess:
1. Water fountain is too new to him. He does not understand it. Of it is ergonomically uncomfortable.
2. He suddenly get used to drinking water from bowl yesterday We know he has diabetes for a month. But we did not observe that he drink a lot water from the bowl until yesterday. I suspect, the reason of he suddenly like to drink from water bowl, is because five days ago I manually feed him moving water from pot and he drank lot. Then he realizes the benefit of drinking water and start to love drinking water from bowl
3. When the water fountain came, it has some oil on its internal surface. I cleaned it. But perhaps there is still some weird taste remaining in the water. The fountains comes with a water filter that they claim it can make the water more clean and pleasant to drink. However, I did not apply it because I need to do more research to ensure it is completely safe. (as it is from China)
