911 My 2x Post DKA Kitty had a +5 of 35!!! Not used to numbers this low.

I tested her +5 and it was 35. She is OK and decided to eat her MC food so I put a tiny bit of HC sauce on it. She's been a bit lower since she got out of the hospital last week with a second bout of DKA. Just want to make sure I do the right thing for her. I am having a BBQ and people over in an hour or so. I can still check on her and will.

Anything else I should be doing?
 
Breathe :bighug:. It's similar to what we did last time. Retest her BG in 20 minutes from giving the MC food with HC sauce. Make sure it was just like 1T of food so she doesn't fill up right now in case she needs to eat more.
 
Ok that's a 50 on the AT2 meter so feed her another tablespoon of MC food and retest in 20 minutes. She'll probably need a reduction tonight to 1.75U but I am leery of reducing her insulin too much since this was her 2nd DKA. Come on, Millie, don't be so dramatic for your Momma :cat:
