Since we got home so late tonight, I tested her, she was 460, but I'm sure most of that is stress right now. So to error on the side of caution. Gave her a skinny .5u. As I will getting her on her new 6am - 6pm schedule in the morning. She is WONDERFUL...and she is a tortie-point. I see little peach colored feeties, and she has little tortie spotted ears...and OH those eyes!!!

She already has taken full command of the bedroom....lol. Went in to check on her, she was lounging on the bed like she had been here her entire life.

I'll get pictures of her in the morning when I have decent light, and well I can see straight again.

<bangs head on wall>

Just woke up, immediately knocked Musette's meter off the counter and into the dog's water bowl! Now the thing won't turn on...heavy sigh! DH is still out like a light, and well so is Musette. Thankfully I still have time before I need to test and shoot, so I have finger's crossed that in a few hours my mom will be wake, I can get a hold of her and borrow her meter and a couple of strips to get Musette tested.

Since we got home and shot so late, I'm slowly adjusting her shot times back to where they need to be. So panic hasn't quite set in yet.

Are you sure one of the fur gang isn't named "Murphy"? And, what's this? No back-up meter?

See if putting the meter in some rice will dry it out.

lol got a back up meter...just no back up strips. They are ordered, just haven't shown up yet. This is what I get for trying to get everything ready to test with a splitting sinus headache, no coffee yet, and about 5 hours of sleep. I've gotten too use to having an OTJ cat. On the upside...no ketones (got that test last night before bed) and both my mother and father-in-law are diabetics and live in town. Just need to wait until someone else is up and moving. If all else fails, once DH is up and moving its a trip to Wlamart for another Relion Micro. I will not panic...............yet! Good thing about getting in so late last night is that right now she isn't due to even be tested until 10am and it is only closing in on 7am my time.

Morning, guys! Glad to hear you are back home, safe and sound! Can't wait to see pics of Miss Musette... good luck with the testing supplies this morning!

It's wonderful that Musette is home. Too bad about your meter. You might call the manufacturer and ask them if they can suggest a way to dry it out. A friend of mine dropped her digital camera in water and she fixed it by putting it in a low oven (regular oven, not microwave) for a little while (don't know how long, though). Anyway, it's worth a try.

Hope you have a lovely day getting acquainted with your new girl.

what a way to start your day! yikes!

the rice that sienne mentioned is what people use for drying out cell phones they've dropped in toilets or other wet places.
