Murphy had a Cushing's test today, and she didn't get her insulin or eat until noon today. My vet told me to feed her late tonight, so I thought about 9:45 p.m. (PST). She is at 111 BG currently, and I'm afraid to give her the insulin tonight b/c she's nearly perfect right now. Then, tomorrow, she wants me to continue as usual w/ feeding and shots. But, she'll be off kilter for a few days and I don't want to shoot any less than 10 hours. Any ideas on how I should handle this. I hesitate tonight b/c she's on the low side of good right now.
Also, we did ultra sound on her little front paws, and she has torn tendons from obviously falling, which we believe caused the huge laceration on the side of her belly. What we decided is to proceed w/ B12 methyl 3mcg per day. We don't think splinting her will do any good, but the B12 will help relieve some of the discomfort, and maybe repair some of the nerve damage.
So, I'm waiting for the results, but won't know until Monday. She threw in a fructosamine and didn't even tell me and didn't charge me. I'm so thankful for her.
Please, ideas on eating/shooting tonight. Help.
