This is the part that I hate. I come home, and I see those little tears in her eyes, and I know she has had a pancreatic attack. I can't stop her from getting the nausea, and I don't think the 1/4 pill that the vet prescribed is really doing the trick. She gets her fluids and I'm doing everything I can. God help me, I am so angry with her old vet I could spit nails. It breaks my heart to see those little tears in her eyes. Anyone have a good idea on how to help with nausea?

This situation has got me so upset, I cannot stand it. I'm such a basket case right now. I've got a Siamese who refuses to eat his Wellness (wet) food and then Murphy. Oscie will not eat if he decides he's tired of the food, so I have to resort to Wellness dry. I suppose this is not a bad thing - he has to eat, but I'm going nuts! The vet gave Murphy some sort of nausea medication - can't recall the name - but by the time I get home, she's already started with it. I do not think it's the pancreatitis, I think it's nausea from not eating for 12 hours. We cannot make a change in her diet - detrimental at this point. I'm at a loss.

What about freezing her canned food and putting it out frozen so she can nibble at it during the day as it thaws out? That way she can eat a little while your away.

I can try that -- but here's the problem - Oscie is always wanting what she doesn't finish, so I'm sure he'd be right there wanting the food, although he doesn't want his !!! Typical picky Siamese. It's a real tailspin I'm in!

Hi I don't know what's available in the States but I use Denes Digestion Plus and Dorwest Digestive Supplement, both have peppermint, ginger and other herbs. They do help. Vet also told me I could use Milk of Magnsia *I think it was 1/4 tsp) I know not perhaps ideal cos of the mag levels but honestly it helps and I would rather Cattro have some relief than not. best of luck.

lol Oh I know all about picky siamese I have 3 of them. (Blue-point, Flame-Point & Lynx Point). All of which are extrememly picky or at least were until everyone went on the same diet. Now as long as I vary the flavors everyone eats what they should.

Other than freezing her food the only other thing I can think of is a timed feeder. But then again you would be running into Oscie being there to steal food. Unless they both can be put on the same diet. Lastly would be to move her into a room of her own while you are away. Give her a room with LB and food and water, and keep Oscie out of that room while you are away. Then when you are home let her out to be with the rest of the household. Or the reverse lock up Oscie while you are gone and leave her out in the house.

We do that when we have to be gone for awhile with Max, not because of there being any dry food around, but because he grazes and a couple of mine will hoover up any scraps left. So when I need to leave extra food because we will be gone for extended periods of time, Max goes in the bedroom/bathroom where he has a window ledge to lay on, his own litter box and his own dishes, the other nine get the run of the house.

Hopefully you will find a solution that works for everyone.

I have to seperate Khan into his own room - I have a spare bedroom converted into the "cat room" - if I put out a few dishes around the room- the mom won't scarf up all the food- so she can stay (Wisp) with Khan -- now my other cats will -- if they get a chance.

If space is at a premium, using a very large kennel crate or cat cage can separate 1 cat from the other. Craigslist can be a source for these around 1/3 to 1/2 the retail cost.

A minimum of 30" long is needed for a modest setup of litterbox and place to lay. A 4' long dog kennel or the 4' tall cat cage is preferred in order to allow some movement.
