Murphy's BG has been in the 300s all day. Is it common for the regulation to be back and forth for a while? It's only been one week for Lantus at 2 units twice per day. We are switching the diet hopefully starting next week, but it will be a little bit of a process, not over 7 days like the normal cat would be able to withstand. I'm curious as to how long it takes for a regulation to set in. She is up and down every day.

And, possibly I am giving her too much of the Purina OM. I give her 3/4 can a.m. and the same p.m. She likes hers blended (pureed), it's easier for her to east.

I'm frustrated that her BG #s are all over the place. Possibly I'm wishing for something that is going to take more time.

Oh, by the way, Murphy's d. cati/MRSI is rearing its ugly head again. I suppose until the diabetes is under control, she will continue with the immunoinsufficency.

Regulation is a marathon not a dash. There are bumps in the road. The key to regulation and feeding is to feed the same amount each time. The amount/calories you feed is based on maintaining the desired weight. I have been working on my Bailey for over 5 1/2 years and his BG are still all over the place, A couple of times a week I get PSs below 100 and well above 300.
