Okay, so little Murphy is doing quite well, her numbers are looking fairly good. She's going in for a curve on Thursday, we're doing PLI and fructosamine again and a mini-surg panel to check things out.

Here's what I'm seeing - now, she's messing around with dindin time. She'll eat a little, then go away, then she'll come back, then go away, it can take up to an hour for her to eat her food. Vet said that it's probably because she's more regulated and her appetite is not so ravenous, but I can see that, except I'm afraid to give the insulin if she's not going to eat it all. Anyone every experienced this? This obviously is a tremendous concern for me.

I'm afraid of this.

All 10 of my cats are grazers in that they will eat a little bit and then walk away, then come back and eat a little more, rinse and repeat until they have finished their food.

Max was ravenous until he went OTJ and put back on the weight that he had lost. Now that he is back to a proper weight and off insulin he grazes right along with the rest of the herd. No granted I'm not giving insulin anymore so that may vary with how others that are handle food and shots. Hopefully someone will chime in soon.

But I would take it as she is just starting to eat more like her old kitty cat self because she is using more of the food she is eating. Plus on a better wet diet she is getting less in fillers and more in true food that her body can use.

That's sort of what my vet said as well, that Murphy is feeling more satiety now, and eating normally, which is actually a really good sign. It's just strange to see all of these changes. Her little wound has healed up nicely and she is scheduled to get her staples out this Thursday.
