I know I have yet to do the spreadsheet for Murphy. I have been so busy and also ill myself on/off.
Murphy’s Blood sugars have been extremely good for about a week, lower than they have ever been (82, 129, 139, 200 i.e.) on 2 units of pzi.
Aside from a few coughing fits which were getting better over the last few days, he was acting oh so normal and looked great.
He has had the cough on/off for many years and I think it is allergies.
Well, the Steroid shot he got in May for allergies which kicked him into the Diabetes seems to wearing off and the coughs are coming back.
The good news is that he may be going into Diabetic Remission! Yeah!
The bad news is that he was not looking or acting very well this morning and once again I could not give him insulin
and was concerned about all of the lows as he had been highs for so long, so he is at the vet.
They will be checking his blood panel and doing a lung x-ray to compare against the one from 6 weeks ago.
I pray all is well and it’s just the allergies.

Thinking of you and lovely Murphy.

Hopefully he will have a clean bill of health and complete remission, you have been through so much with him. And thank you so much for the lovely e card, it was so thoughtful of you. I meant to thank you as soon as I received it, but I haven't been online a great deal since losing my lovely Lili. But it really meant a lot. xxx

Murphy is currently on Antihistamines and an Antibiotic. The vet had done another lung xray and it had not changed really since the initial one 6 weeks ago, but no one mentioned asthma. They specialize, really specialize in cat care, so I think they would have mentioned that. They said if I was willing to, they could have put him under and put something down his throat to see what he might spit up when he came to and then cultured it. said no, thanks not now. I really think they just like to test to the ninth degree, is it? and also make sure your cat is at its peak. He s still off the insulin with glucoses in the 100's...141, 150, etc. He actually seemed fantastic just before I dragged him to the vet Monday morning when he seemed a bit unwell. The vet also did a complete blood panel and all looks ok. I am a tad nervous as I am going away overnight tomorrow (Cincinnati- Princess Diana Exhibit) as he still does not seem quite up to snuff, but maybe it is the allergies reappearing, the meds or the stupid steroid injection from may that might have set this whole thing off and is wearing off? I will have an actual qualified vet tech who can test his glucose if she can find him and could have given him his insulin come to the house on sat & sun. I found her through one of the vet hospitals at the PetSmart pet center near home. She has a gazillion animals at home, lives pretty close by and does not charge a lot for each visit.
Still praying for remission!
Thank you all for your kind words, purrs, hugs and good wishes.
I will get his spreadsheet up and running one of these days!!

hugs and purrs,
Donna

You'll only be 1 hr 45 minutes away from me in Cincinnatti!

Are you driving or flying?

Hi!

BJM was so critical in helping me get adjusted to Simmie's diabetes that I can't see myself having had any success without her. Now I am on the TR insulin group and having just as many panic attacks as before (yet they are different) but that's only because I am such a nut case .. it was people like BJM, Elizabeth, Kpassa and others who got me to a position where I believe I am actually helping Simmie.

I live in Cincinnati so if anyone wants to get together please let me know! We even have a pool so if the weather is nice enough and warm enough you can come to our house (20 minutes from downtown) for a swim and bbq! I would LOVE it!

Hugs,
Lydette
