Could someone please give me some details on slippery elm bark, and whether or not it interferes w/ pancreatitis and pancreatic enzymes? Also, will is cause further constipation, and for how long does it relieve nausea?

going the regular med route, have you considered reglan (metoclopromide)? it helps with gastric emptying/nausea.
re constipation, if you wanted to try something elementary before resorting to a bigger gun like reglan, how about miralax mixed into food with extra water added. that may help get things going.
i thought the slippery elm was more for liver issues but don't quote me on that.

I know I've read that SEB helps with nausea and diarrhea which would concern me about the opposite-constipation. I had used Miralax before, but it was before she had pancreatitis, so I don't know what effects it would have with the pancreatic enzymes she gets (Panakare Plus). The metaclopramide does not do much for her.

ondansetron worked well for cleo's vomiting. but for nausea pepcid might help, too. get the 1% famodadine kind and give a quarter pill once a day to start. you could ask vet for injectable famotadine in the morning if you'd rather inject than pill. it helps with intestinal gas.
we also used cerenia for nausea. 1/4 pill once a day.
