Good morning, all. Boy, Murphy is really hitting some high numbers. When she went to the vet last week, we noticed that she is more hock in her front paws than b/4. Her numbers are (to me at least), higher than prior to the Wellness recall. I cannot think of anything I'm doing wrong, and the only thing I could do is reduce her meal by some to get her numbers down.
How long does the Lantus Solostar pen last for you all. I purchased mine on February 23rd. Is it possible that the insulin is going bad? If I reduce her diet any more, she will start in with the nausea again. She is getting 3/4 can in the a.m. and 3/4 can in the p.m.
Seems like we are approaching an unregulated situation. Is possible that with unregulation, that she would experience more hock in her paws?
Troubling. Of course, I know that diabetes is not going to give me the same numbers every time I check her, but I also realize that my One Touch meter is usually right on target at numbers higher than 185, but lower than 125, she is significantly lower.
Oh, and BTW, her demodex mite is back. It is not as bad on her nose as b/4, but she is developing scabby sores on her belly and around her underarm. She is on Ivermectin again. We are dealing with a professor at UC Davis, Dr. Pederson, he created the FIP vaccination years ago, and has significant knowledge of immunosuppression and immune modulating therapy to boost immunity. There is a possibility that we may do a short course of colostrum since she was a runt and didn't get her mother's milk.
