I am having the same issue as Cara - I decided Murphy needed to go to Levemir - well, the last week or so, he almost has the classic prozinc smile - except for the past few days, the insulin is taking a long time to kick in and is lasting a very long time - at +13.5 today, he was still at 200 -checked him at +2.5 & +3.5, and he's ~130
Now I am not sure I want to switch - I do admit, I like the flexibility of prozinc but don't know why his nadir is moving

Wish I had a brilliant idea. With Murphy, I'd guess some of it depends on how he is feeling, as so often he seems to feel a little off. And the food enters the picture - if he has been feeling better and eating better, then everything works better. Regardless, lovely amps this morning, Carol.

Sue, what's the feeling about a switch - I know my vet will be against it

I don't know, Carol. If I thought he would settle in and his numbers would make sense so we could do a better job of adjusting doses, then I'd think staying with what you are comfortable with makes sense.

We are thinking he will be more predictable with Levemir, as it tends to give a flatter cycle. That might make your life easier?

Go with your gut?

The other thing to support you switching insulin would be showing the ProZinc wearing off too soon. Tests at +9, +10, +11 (check different times on different days unless you want to do all 3 in a cycle!)
