Well, I am seeing that since we've totally switched over the the Evo canned, her numbers are coming down almost unbelievably. She is in the mid-100s probably most of the day! Checked her at 3:30 this a.m. same thing - mid 100s!!! I'm so pleased. She loves the fluids and is starting to play a little more.

Great report for Murphy. :-D Really lessens the stress levels, doesn't it, when they start to come around? good job on the conversion to canned food, too. Personally, I was shocked to discover what junk dry food is, even when you pay for the expensive stuff. hope you and Murphy have a good day. Keep up the good work, Murph!

Morning! Here is the link to your previous condo Oct 4th: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=26520

Nice to see those blues on Murphy's SS....did you get an AMPS this morning?
Did Murphy sp0end time in the hospital this week? There was a mention of it on your SS....how is she feeling?

Another question and a suggestion.

When you mention fluids, does this mean you're giving subcutaneous fluids?

The suggestion -- could you make a note on your SS that you're now giving just canned food and when you started?

Oops, actually I had started a condo here this a.m. early. On the food, Murphy just decided that she was not going to eat the Purina OM any longer. I think Purina veterinary diets are terrific, as they have kept Oscie struvite free for 10 years. But, I wonder if the gravy in the OM was making Murphy's pancreatitis worse? So, my vet and her nutritionist decided that there is no sense in making her eat something that she doesn't want to eat. I always thought that hepalipidosis came from switching foods to quickly, but that is actually not the case. It comes from a starvation of 24-48 hours or more when a kitty won't eat, and then after you reach the 48 hour mark is when it becomes a real serious health issue. Has nothing to do with the food, although I did try to slowly switch over, she just decided she wouldn't have it, and I knew she had to eat.

She was in the hospital and I brought her home Thursday evening. The fluids thing is going perfectly, she just takes it in, loves the warmth of the fluids. And, we had a terrific day with her numbers! Although with the fluids, doesn't seem like she wants to drink much water today. Would that be correct?

I am so glad to see that Murphy is doing so much better. As far as I can remember, when my kitty got subq fluids, he didn't drink much either. But that was so many years ago and I don't know if that was the norm or not.

I suppose it would make sense, but I don't know that it's all that good either. I'll have to ask her vet tonight when she calls. She's been calling about every other night to check on her. When I saw the 120 this a.m., just 2 hours after she ate, I got very nervous, but I suppose over nothing.
