Well, Murphy has had a really good weekend with her glucose numbers almost all being in the low-mid 100s. Then this afternoon, around 3:30 or so, she started jumping into the 200s, and following me into the kitchen, following me all around like she was before we started the insulin. I suppose this will be a roller coaster ride for a while. Then, my vet left a message for met that all of her labs came back good from her little trip to the hospital last week, except one of the kidney function tests, which I believe are either BUN or creatinine. I cannot recall which was was still elevated, but she did say it could be due to dehydration and nothing to be concerned about. We'll check those numbers after a week (this coming Friday) to see if she does any better on that test since she's getting fluids now. Oh, brother, I forgot to warm up the fluid back tonight and injected her with cold fluids!!!

I hope her kidneys are okay and I'm not worrying about something else, but it appears that some times, dealing with diabetes also contains dealing with kidney issues as well.

Hi Lisa,
I have no advice but I think if you put "Sub Q" question in your title it will draw the right people to answer...Regardless this will bump your thread up.

BGs do fluctuate especially when a kitty is almost of the juice. It is not unusual for a kitty on a low carb (high protein) diet to have an elevated BUN and, as you said, dehydration raises BUN and Cr.
