moving shot time

Since I have been on the boards for a couple of years, some of you know that I work part time at Walt Disney World. I am there on the weekends. Typically I work day shifts but my preferred shift is 5am to 1:30 (a stock shift). Since I work 7 days a week, this type of shift allows me some time in the afternoon to get stuff done (fyi I am actually off today-next day off is Memorial Day).

Normally, since Cedric went back on insulin in February, his shots are at 6am & 6pm. Because I have to leave for work at 4am on Sunday (live 30 miles from WDW), he will get his injection at 4am. Yesterday, I started changing his shot time in 1/2 hour increments: 5:30pm last night, 5 am this morning and 4:30pm tonight. Tomorrow night we will go in reverse.

Assuming that I get scheduled the 5 am shift for Sunday 4/28 (won't know until tomorrow), we will go thru the same thing next weekend. This means that I will have to get my pet sitter to come at 4:30 on Saturday afternoon to check him, shoot him, feed him, scoop boxes (well heck if I am paying her the $25 to come over, she might as well do it all even though I will be home later, lol). I don't think I have any alternative, as it definately takes me an hour to get home in the afternoons from Disney and I am not sure how I would feel giving him a shot at 5:45 pm when I give him another dose about 10 hours later.

He is back on Lantus. While our signature is not updated our spreadsheet usually is. Please tell me your thoughts! Thanks!

I consider that to be satisfactory. For over a year, a couple of years ago I shot may cats on the weekends on a 16/8 hour schedule. Five were on Lantus and one on Levemir and N.

Seems like a plan to me. Much less difficult than the following.

Since shooting early acts like a dose increase and shooting late acts like a dose decrease, it could be possible to work out a slight variation in am and pm doses to accommodate that. I believe we had someone with a shop cat who had a customized schedule like that (11 hr and 13 hr periods). This would be specific for your cat and would need to be noted in your signature and on the spreadsheet.
