Tomorrow I am doing an all day glucose test on Payne and I will have help most of the day
except for a time in the afternoon. I can get blood well (thanks for the rice sock idea!) but still cannot
gently hold Payne AND bring the monitor to the blood. The moment I start to hold too tight or too soft,
she takes off.

Many times I have gotten the blood drop on my fingernail .... having washed my hands well each time,
can I then use this drop for the test? It would mean I could do the testing on my own, well with Payne,
of course :) So, is it good? I have tried restraints but it pisses her off and then she hides and she is a
REAL GOOD hider! Thanks!

Yes, get the blood onto the back of a fingernail and touch the strip to that.

A common trick.

But you might need a slightly larger blood drop to start with.

Have you tried testing her without trying to restrain her? Max will fight me if I try to restrain him, so I just get him up on the bed with me, have everything handy, then I sit cross legged and start by petting and brushing him, then slip the rice sock up and warm up both ears (so he doesn't know which one I'm going for). Then poke, test, hand over the treats. That way the only thing I'm restraining is his ear briefly to get the meter to the blood.

But if that doesn't work for Payne then yep you can catch the blood drop on the back of your fingernail and test that.
