Got blood (from the foot) first try today! :mrgreen:

Tried the ears but all I kept getting was teeth in my hand. He's not really into all this stuff!

But I got a 94!!! No shot this morning! He was really happy about that.

Bonito flakes are what are going to get us thru this!

That's great, Jaimie! I've not tried using the foot before for testing. hmmm.
Hope the tests continue to be in pretty green colors for Motor.

I only use the back foot pad (dont have a microwave)
an it take 2 seconds to do, he just lies there while I do it so I dont think he minds...

That is a wonderful number by the way!

Welcome, Jaime and Motor! I've never used foot pads, but I've got a pretty complacent kitty thankfully. She lies there and purrs the whole time, even if I have to poke her ears multiple times. Good job on getting the blood! It is scary at first, but you get much better with practice. Do you have a spreadsheet set up yet? We can help you best if you do that, as we can see how Motor has been doing. Hope you guys have a great day!
 
Klinger used to be pretty complacent with the ear tests, but lately he tries to pull away. Of course he does it after I've poked him and am moving in with the meter. Maybe I'll give his back foot a try.
 
6 hours later and we're at 102!
On hold with our vet as I type this ... haven't given insulin today, but wanted to be safe. (and the hubby is worried since there has been no insulin!)

Vet says YAY!!!! And is excited. Wants us to keep testing - don't shoot unless the numbers are out of wack and call them in a week!

I'm so excited! And now my husband has the peace of mind he needs too!
