? Mossimo's OTJ trial update

Hello everyone, Cait and Mo again,

People have said he isn't in a strong remission yet because we are seeing too many blues, but I have noticed in the PM cycles he is coming down to green after +3. It isn't by much, but he still gets in the green.

We are at my moms for a long weekend so he is a bit stressed, but is still getting decent numbers. At his +3 this AM he has had his first number over 120 which was heart breaking to me. I just took his blood again, and he came in at 100! Gave me hope his pancreas is working!

I started giving him a higher carb snack instead of boiled chicken. He will not eat wet food for a snack so the only orher option is a little bit of kibble.

I know this group wants to see more green numbers, but isn't it a good thing to stay withing 80-120? I'm just getting nervous with all this and I am going to finish the 14 days of no insulin.

Just curious of next steps. His 14th day is Tuesday, July 5th. I just want what is best for my boy.

I am just worried and it confuses me about remission if he stays under 120.

Thanks.

I’ve read this but need to discuss with others. For now just keep testing Ambg and pmbg. I am thinking that with the current bg you won’t have a strong remission. We would have had you go from .25 to 0.10 before stopping insulin. After the holiday weekend we can discuss options.
Are all your bg readings from a Libre? It would be good to get some ear pricks.

I didn't go to .1 because my vet would not give me another script for insulin and she wanted me to stop the insulin to see how he would do.

I started getting anxious and just went for it. What do you guys consider a strong remission? I just don't get that if he stays under 120 and keeps the same diet how it is not a remission.

I will update his spreadsheet. When I started the OTJ trial I have only done ear pokes. I wanted to most accurate readings for it.

If your vet won't give you another script for lantus take a look here ,its our supply closet ,members who sell their insulin because their kitties have passed

I know the seller and you can trust her
I would private message her, talk on her name and start a conversation

You might not need more insulin. See how it goes until you are home. I’ll discuss with others by then. Have a good time.

Thank you very much! I appreciate the help! We are traveling back on Monday. I hope you enjoy your holiday!!
