Hello everyone,

Mo has been a little stinker and has been giving me a difficult time with eating wet food. Let me rephrase, all 3 of my cats have been driving me nuts!!! We are on a rollercoaster ride of wet food journey. Good news is, the past 2 days they have been doing better! When we get back from traveling I may try raw since that is literally the only thing I have not tried. I am not looking for tricks because I have literally tried every single one provided from this group and the facebook group.

I went to Mo's vet last week for a new script of lantus. She does not want to give it to me as she truly believes Mo is going into remission. I started an OTJ trial 7 days ago. I also removed the libre sensor and have been poking his ears for more accurate numbers.

I believe he is doing well, but I know this group would like to see more green numbers.

What is everyone's thoughts? I am at a loss and don't know if me not giving him insulin is doing good or bad. I also him not eating consistently has him wacky. He is grazing more on the wet food throughout the day rather than eating it in one sitting.

He is currently working with fancy feast pate and young again kibble. His snacks are boiled chicken.

Please let me know.

That's perfectly fine! Most of us either leave food down all day or feed every 3-5 hours. The only time we don't want them eating is the 2 hours immediately before Pre-Shot times.

I am concerned that you're still seeing so much blue, and usually, in a cat in remission, the +3 would be lower than the PS number and I don't see that happening with Mo. Most cats that are ready for an OTJ trial are getting mostly greens with just an occasional blip of blue too.

I understand your vet's opinion too. Vets are happy to have them in the 200's but they're also not used to people like us who are willing to do the work to get them into a strong remission.

At this point, I'd say he's in remission, but just barely and my concern is it's not a strong remission. Let's see what some others say.

I agree with Chris. Keep getting AMBG and PMBG. If blue test again in 3-4 hours and let’s see if it’s green. For now just pull food if you get a blue BG before breakfast and dinner and test 2.4 hours later. The rest of the time grazing is fine. Do you give a +9 snack?

Is it possible to try to encourage him to eat a couple tsp of food in the +8 or +9 time frame? As Elise suggested, if the pancreas is working, that should bring the numbers down and give you a green PS.

So if I get a blew number at preshot time, don't give breakfast or dinner? And re evaluate in 2.5 hours? Want to make sure I am understanding what you said.

Yes, he gets boiled chicken at both +9's.

How about trying something with carbs at +9. If he gets blue at PS, feed and test again 3 hours later.
