Frankie was due to get a decrease of Lantus this evening to 3.75 units. However, he hardly ate so I only gave him 2 units. Two hours later he polished off the rest of his food and two hours after that he ate another pouch. At the moment he is in his new evening pattern of being in the blues, although not enough (at the moment) to reduce further. My question is that if he continues in the blues and doesn't bounce what dose should I give in the morning - 2 or 3.75?

If you're able to get tests in, I'd give the 3.75 tomorrow but it's really too early to say for sure. If you can get up early enough to get a +11 in, then by AMPS you'll know for sure if he's climbing

I have a feeling he'll be high enough with the decrease tonight and he's already up in the yellows again

Any time you change a dose (increase, decrease, skip or temporarily decrease), the count for the number of days at a dose starts all over again. I would reduce the dose to 3.75u in the AM and stick with that dose for the week that's required for SLGS.
