Monoject syringes at ADW: new rules

Hi everyone, Here's a heads-up.

I ordered Monoject syringes from ADW yesterday. Today they called to tell me that an order form from a doctor had to be faxed to them before they could fill the order. Apparently this is a new regulation that was instituted by Monoject (I wonder if it applies to other brands, too). So I gave them my vet's phone number and they were going to call her and have her fax the required form.

I remarked to the ADW representative that I had been ordering these syringes for several years now and never had to go through red tape. She said that the new policy was only about 2 months old.

Anyone else have this experience?

Ella

Gosh what a pain! I think I just ordered two weeks ago, and all was fine. I wonder does it apply to any brand of syringes? There is another place where some of the Beans order the syringes, can't think of it at the moment!

Nothing here about the new rules either. I have the monojets on auto ship and no one has contacted me about needing a script. I'll keep my eye out for the next shipping date to make sure all is going according to schedule.

Hi Ella - I said this in your condo too, but I just ordered these syringes this past TH and had no problems with the order. They didn't call, no vet stuff required or on record with them.

This is a little bizarre, but I do appreciate the heads up, and will be prepared for the next time I order them.

I got the same response the very first time I ordered syringes from ADW. They called me, I told them the syringes were for my cat, then they called the vet and that was that. Ever since then, I've noted in the "comments" section that the syringes were for my cat and provided the vet's number. However, it has been a while now since I've ordered syringes...

I wonder if because they only other thing I've gotten from them are AlphaTrak supplies, they automatically have me flagged as veterinary use.

I see in the fine print at the bottom of the Monoject syringes description on the ADW website that they "may require a doctor's order". I wonder if they flagged me because I live in NY (a hotbed of illegal drugs up here in the mountains)?

I just checked the Hocks site and there is no such "notice" there (but the cost is about $5. more).

I also wonder if it is the state you live in ....Amy is in NJ.

I also just got an order....no issue at all. Except the syringes are inaccurate as ever.

It makes me glad I get mine from Walmart now. I get wanting to ensure they're not misused, but if your stare doesn't require a script, well, that should be good enough. If anyone needs some Monojects to tide you over, I have about half a box gathering dust because I don't like them at all. If you want some or all of them, PM me and I'll send them to you. Someone might as well get some use from them.
