Monitor that requires only 0.3 milliliters of blood?

Good morning everyone,

Are there any monitors currently being made that require only 0.3 milliliters of blood?

My Relion Micro is old and I don't always feel 100% comfortable that its giving me accurate results. A monitor that has control solution would be a plus.

Thanks! That may be an option if I'm only using it to double check FreeStyle Libre.
 
Definitely consider the Freestyle Lite before the AlphaTrak if the ease of getting the small sample is your main concern. The strips are the exact same design.
Better to have a human meter for comparison and spot checks if you’ll be running the Libre.
 
Thank you everyone. Pet Buddy does only needs 0.3 milliliters of blood, but that's what got me into this mess in the first place, not using human numbers : )
 
It's microliters of blood. I don't have characters on the keyboard to show you but it looks like a uL. There's a big difference!
I knew what you meant. But thats how mistakes happen.

One decimal point is a big deal.

I've been doing this a long time with humans, and they still mess it up. It's an honest mistake but something to be aware of.
 
How weird, I pulled that off the Walmart website, "Testing your blood glucose levels doesn't have to be a painful or difficult process. Yikes, that's a bad mistake. Sometimes "Walmart" is actually a third party seller kinda like Amazon. They steal from other seller's websites.

I only know this because I once sold a gadget on my own website and on my Amazon seller website. Before I knew it, it was all over the place being sold by other people. And Walmart ended up being one of those seller websites. They basically stole my description, photos, everything. They weren't making a huge profit (because I know what I sold it for wholesale). But it's really odd how quickly it got hacked!!

Looks like the same thing happened with that glucometer. Someone who wasn't paying attention probably saw microliter & wrote milliliter. But it's definitely uL (micro) liter.
 
I've never known another member here to use one. They have a great memory system but once had a recall on strips that wasn't well publicized and my pharmacist knew nothing about it. They're free in Canada, just don't say anything about a cat.
 
I’m using a Vet GlucoGauge and it only requires 0.3 sample. The strips are a little cheaper than the AlphaTrack and Freestyle at $35 for 50 strips. I had a lot of trouble getting 0.5 for the human meter I bought at Walgreens and the strips were about the same price so I just went with what my vet uses.
 
Thank you! I'm looking for a monitor that gives human numbers so I can follow a protocol here on FDMB, but I very much appreciate your post!
