Hi my cat sox has been diet controlled for a few years now and was given prozinc insulin.

My moms cat has been newly diagnosed and been put on 2 units of caninsulin.

Now as its been so long since I last injected insulin I can really remember the routine I had.

If my mom wanted to give the insulin at 7.30 in the morning would test feed jab all at 7.30. Or feed a little food at 7am then test feed jab at 7.30

Thanks for any help, I just can remember.

    Thank you

Caninsulin is different from Prozinc (prozinc is generally gentler and considered a more appropriate insulin for cats). She should feed at 7-7:10 before the shot. Test at 7 , Feed, then shot at 7:30 The starting dose is too high. The recommended starting dose is 1 unit twice a day.

Yes that's what I thought about the dose that it was a bit high to start with.

Great thank you, that sounds pretty much like the routine I had.
