Today is mocha's 3 month anniversary OTJ! She tested last night at +2 at 66 ...
We are still working on getting her eye better .. I don't know what's wrong with it and neither does peter .. we took her to the vet for it a few weeks ago and she has been on AB's and artificial tear drops since .. She was getting lots of wet green eye boogies which at this point have stopped .. after that she was getting clear fluid but that has also stopped. She does still however have the red tinge to her sclera, and sometimes it looks redder then it ever did before. Mocha doesn't seem bothered by it at all .. She doesn't squint or rub at it UNLESS we put in her eye drops .. Then they water up something fierce and she rubs at them. Mocha's eyes don't look cloudy at all, bright blue eyes .. my "Sinatra" At the vet appt, she saw no tears/scratches/ulcers and was not even positive that she had an infection going. She did comment that mocha's tear duct production was on the lower side, that's why she gave us the tear drops. We are supposed to go back for a recheck next week sometime. Someone suggested on the health forum a trip to an ophthalmologist .. the closest one of those around here is over an hour away and well, unfortunately financial resources are just not there. I'm keeping my fingers crossed the redness goes away but feel like it should have already done that at this point.
Other then that, everything is running good in this house .. civvie twix and mocha play hard each day, usually a game of one hides around a corner and then waits for the other to walk by and then attacks. It's so funny to watch .. When twix knows mocha is around the corner, she comes walking around it sideways, with an arched back .. too funny
This Friday me and peter are heading to NY for his grandmother's memorial. It will be our first time away in nearly two years. I am scared and nervous to leave my girls, especially with mocha's eye the way it is. But I have my mom, my SIL and my dad all helping out with their food schedule and they all know how very important it is to me to keep one cat away from the other cat's food.
Well anyways, thought it was time for a mocha update and with this being her anniversary, what better time to post one?
