Good Afternoon All!

Need some purrs and prayers for MK (aka Miss Kitty) Marco's feline Mom. She secluded herself this weekend, which kind of alarmed us ... but sometimes she gets in a mood where she likes to stay to herself so we disregarded it. This morning dbf called me and said "she's breathing kind of heavy honey, she's purring, but I read that sometimes they purr a lot when they are about to die" ... dbf is pretty upset and scared that he may be losing his "old girl". We have an appointment for her this afternoon at 530p central time. I am hoping maybe she is just having an old kitty day, or maybe she is just dehyrdrated / constipated...

More Info:
dbf and I plus the kitties have all moved into a brand new place since 10/22 - its just us and them now, no drooler or other household guests.
Her appy has been light the past couple of days.
DBF says she seemed a little constipated this AM.
She is a kidney cat, but she has decided against treatment and we respect that.
She eats canned food, and on occasion will eat dry food when she doesn't want canned. :/
MK was born in 1994 and I've had her since she was old enough to leave her Mum.

Many prayers and purrs coming from Nebraska for Miss Kitty. We will be crossing all fingers and paws that it is nothing too serious and that the vet will get her feeling whisker purrfect shortly.

Please keep us posted.

Thank you ladies.

We went to Mr. Vettybean. He did a normal exam on her - for blood withdrawal she must be sedated and we weren't willing to leave her overnight. Anywho, she was dehydrated so he gave her sub-q fluids. She was NOT happy at all!! But we got through it. I got to play tech, she is only semi tame if I am the one handling her.

He checked her physically, her kidneys are normal sized, her bowels were empty, her bladder was normal sized. He said she checks out okay physically. He was surprised her kidneys were normal sized considering before she had elevated "levels" but since we've changed her diet, maybe that is a contributing factor??

She is now sitting on the couch with dbf and I, when we got home I thought she would have wanted to sleep in her little bed but she came running into the kitchen to eat. :)

He said that he thinks that she is just getting old and is moving a little slower. At one point dbf and I were making an extra effort to warm up chicken broth for her in attempts to make sure she gets enough fluids, perhaps we'll start doing that again.

Thanks for all the wonderful support ladies. I'm really glad that it really was nothing a little fluids couldn't take care of! :)
