Miss Kitty-food issues

Miss Kitty is not a fan of wet food at all! :YMSIGH: I think I went through pretty much every Classic FF flavor with no luck. :? We had a few cans of the FF Gravy Lovers just in case she needed it (we had purchased it before she came to stay since we didn't know how she would be # wise), so my mom suggested I tried that, and she loved it! :-D She actually became alert when she heard that can open, sitting up in her bed and coming over to me-before that, I would have to pick her up and sit her in front of the food, sometimes even "tricking" her by placing some of the food on her foot so she would lick it off, and even had to put some food on her tail one time because she was already licking her tail (it worked!), but she would still only take a few licks and be done.

I can tell she isn't dehydrated anymore, her skin actually snaps back like it should! I will be starting to mix some of the Classic FF in with her Gravy Lovers for her dinner tonight, because I know she can't have that Gravy Lovers on a daily basis. I'm just glad she finally started to eat SOMETHING, because we were worried about her for a while!

I have updated her SS...she hasn't needed insulin since the evening of May 29th, and she only received .25U then! :RAHCAT

She is a very sweet cat. Even when I am pricking her ear to test, she is purring. She loves to come rub on our legs and give us headbutts. cat_pet_icon

It sounds like Miss Kitty is settling in well. Head butts are always nice.

Sometimes you can fool her into thinking the classics are gravy but adding a little warm water to them and mixing it up so they are a little soupy. Does your Mom have any FortiFlora? It's a probiotic that has the animal digest that makes dry food so irrestible. You sprinkle it on top of the wet.

Yes...I forgot to mention the FortiFlora. We have been using that, and she seemed to like it once, but after that, she didn't seem to care for it. I have been adding the water to make it as soupy as possible because she was so dehydrated before, but she seems to be smarter than me. ohmygod_smile She'll look up at me like, "really??? I'm not falling for that one, you crazy lady!"

Have you tried other brands of low carb canned food? Fancy Feast is popular and often suggested to newbies but some cats don't like it very much, like my diabetic
