Just been wondering about things I've come across in all the reading and video watching I've been doing ever since Jas was diagnosed.

I have read that exercise is the best thing for healing insulin resistance/increasing insulin sensitivity, and that sardines because of omega3s and pumpkin because of the way it slows digestion, helps with it too.

Also I read that sardines have a lot of b12 which they need and pumpkin helps with preventing anal gland issues which I think is what his abscess on his butt was. (also read Sardines being so small are not a mercury risk.)

I'm also wondering about something I saw about something called "paw wax" ... does anyone here use that for cats who have lost strength in their legs?

Our guy seems to be getting a little better with it but when he lost all the weight his legs got weak and we have laminate and tile flooring so he loses traction when he tries to run/play or go up/down the stairs.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with these things I came across and have been wondering about.

No experience in this arena myself, but we did recently try a tiki cat sardine tin. Interesting concoction if you can get your guy to eat it. It's large unfileted sardine chunks (maybe about a quarter inch to inch long) in a crab puree. While everyone LOVED the crab puree, our sugarcat was the only one brave enough to eat multiple sardine chunks. His brother, and the diva of the house, ate a few chunks and barfed the night away. Be mindful that there are small bones present, which might cause some digestion issues.

LOL! diva! :)

Yeah we had tried *some* kind of tiki stuff a while back when we were first trying to get them off the dry food unsuccessfully... but it was expensive and only the farm supply store on the other side of town would order it special for us if we remembered to ask.

The sardines I give him are the boneless skinless in water, nothing added, and I chop it up good to make sure there's nothing weird in there just like the food lol and haven't found anything weird yet luckily.
