I mentioned the switch only because since I’ve done that her BG has been high and flat :-(
Just a coincidence?
It’s still ulticare brand- just a different size needle. ADW Didn’t have 1/2 unit markings in the 8 mm so I got the 6. I also read the smaller is better for little creatures like cats because it’s even easier to stay subq

I like the Ulticare because the plunger is smooth and doesn’t “stick” like the Relion ones did- and they are around the same price point. It also doesn’t get any bubbles.

no blue skies just sittin’ too close to the sun once again ☀️

If you switched brands of syringes there is a chance the diameter of the barrel of the syringe is different. You may want to redo your caliper settings with the new syringes.

Oh sorry I should have been specific- I was exhausted (my sister is isn’t doing well health wise)
I’m still with Ulticare brand- I’m using 31 gauge 3/10 cc with a 6 mm needle- I was using 8 mm but they didn’t make it in half units so I switched. The 6mm needle has 1/2 unit markings. I know I technically don’t need any of that if I have a digital caliper but I use it just to cross check myself. It just makes me feel better to also see it measured with the lines

I think both Carla and I were confused by your subject line.

While I suspect the difference in numbers is coincidence, make sure you're getting the needle all the way in since you're using a shorter needle and it's not what you may have grown used to.

Hi.....just wanted to let you know that I also switched from UltiCare VetRX 8mm needle to UltiCare (human) 6mm needle last week. I did remeasure with the calipers since I went from a VetRX to a human syringe and I found a difference in the syringes.

Hi Mimi - when you have a chance, could you please modify your title to 1/20 (I don't think we're back in November just yet are we?) LOL!

Add Mimi's AMPS to your title.

Thanks so much! It helps everyone to keep all the posts straight.

I'm sorry about your sister. Sending prayers. It's possible you aren't getting all the insulin in. I switched from a longer needle to a shorter needle and missed getting insulin in while I was getting used to the shorter needles.

thank you. I have felt the pressure into the skin- are you saying it’s possible I didn’t pierce the skin?

So both of mine have been the human one, I’ll still have to double check it though thanks!
