Midas: 13 yo, diagnosed diabetic December 2021. Glargine, low carb wet diet. Tested positive for Acromegaly and IAA (IGF-1: 329, IAA: 38). Taking Cabergoline since August 2022

Midas was on 11.5 U insulin in March 2023 (and had been on 11.5 U for 6 months at that point). He's now down to 10.25 U. I've been slowly reducing by .25 U and he maintains great BG numbers.

Is this unusual? Are there any possible explanations?

I assume it's OK to keep reducing the dose and see how he does?

Any insight or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The pituitary tumour causing acromegaly can pulse up and down, sending out more or less growth hormone. Looks like you are seeing some small changes either due to that or the cabergoline. He's also been seeing enough green and low blue numbers that his body is more comfy in that zone, and he's not bouncing as much.

Are you following a dosing method? If so, I'd keep reducing if he earns a reduction, and see how he does. He's looking great right now, good job. :)
