His amps was 252 and when I tested him 7 hours later he was 328 , why would this be ? He's on 3u of Lantus for well over a week.
I will have the chance to do a curve on Thursday so I will get a better look as his the cycle goes.

Without seeing a spreadsheet and knowing what kind of numbers he's been getting and what doses he's been on (and how often and how much they've been increased) there's just no way for us to give you much in the way of meaningful advice.

It's REALLY important to get tests in every cycle....not just once in awhile doing a curve. If you can just get Pre-shot tests before every shot and at least a "before bed" test at night, it will really help us to be able to help you.

Have you seen our spreadsheet? Here are Instructions on setting up the FDMB spreadsheet

If you have trouble with it, let us know and we can set it up for you with a little information from you. It really is one of our most valuable tools

I do test before every shot and do understand what your saying.
It would be great if someone could set it up for me as I'm not computer savvy nor have much time to be on the computer
My hubby continues to be very ill and I'm drowning with everything going on.
I'm really trying to do my best for Dasher.
Thank you for your help.

Hi,
An 'inverse curve' (higher number at the peak of the cycle than at the pre-shot test) can sometimes indicate that the insulin dose is too high.
It may be that your kitty's blood glucose dropped lower than his body was comfortable with and then 'bounced' up high in response to that. (The body can sometimes release stored glucose to raise the blood glucose. It's a protection mechanism.)

But there are quite a few other things that can account for high numbers during any given cycle.
Maybe the kitty got into some higher carb food. Maybe he isn't feeling well. Maybe he has a furball. Maybe the last insulin shot was a 'fur shot', ie, not all the insulin went into the cat...
But as Chris said, it's not possible to know what's going on without knowing more about how your kitty usually responds to insulin.

I am so very sorry to hear of your husband's illness. You must be under a great deal of stress right now.
And you are also being a great Mom to Dasher.

We really want to help you if we possibly can. And in order to do that it would super duper if you could manage to get some mid-cycle blood tests in for Dasher. Even if you could only get one mid-cycle test a day initially, that would still help. :)

Again, I am so sorry to hear of the strain you are under, and sincerely hope that things improve for you soon.
Sending healing well-wishes to your husband, and a huge virtual :bighug:(((HUG))):bighug: to you from across the pond in the UK.

Thank you Eliz.
I did get a bg on him 2 hours after his shot and it did drop 70 something points . I do have that data and will try and post it today before we head to the doctors. I so need to get a handle on Dasher and have to make it a point to get a few mid day test in. Getting my SS sheet set up will be a great help.

I'm sorry to hear that your hubby is poorly and that you've got so much on your plate right now. I know how the latter feels only too well. Sending a prayer for your hubby to feel better soon and some :bighug::bighug:s for you.
