I don't have a cat any longer, but want to share a story with a happy ending.
Found lovely, friendly boy cat in my garage - because he had a chip, I was able to bring him to the shelter and they connected with his bean. The gal had left him w/ a friend when she went out of state and I guess the friend somehow let him out. Being strange to the area, he wandered for ten days, some good soul fed him, then he came to me.

Thing was tho - the bean hadn't updated her info when she moved last, but someone else at the number on file knew where she was.

Boy, if I hadn't promised dh no more cats, we would've taken him in a flash. But we also knew someone would be elated to get him back. "Reunited, and it feels so good..." I bet he was singing on his way home.( about 40 miles from here.)

The shelter charged her of course for handling etc - next time I go there to volunteer, I will look up the case, call her and see how he is. We got so attached in the short time he was our house guest.

St. Francis at work again.
