Michelle's Angel Needs Help

Last week, Michelle and Doodle's OTJ diabetic kitty Angel needed to see an oncologist. DCIN offered to help pay for that visit, but we haven't raised much yet.

The news from Michelle from Friday's $1500 vet visit was:

Angel had her biopsies done today and I have good news... and no news. She ended up having biopsies done on both her liver and her kidney due to the fact that one of her kidneys was enlarged and she has a history of chronic UTI. There is a concern of either pyelonephritis (kidney infection) or lymphoma in her kidney at this point. (especially concerning, in light of her high calcium.)

The "good news" is that the large mass we saw on Tuesday's ultrasound turned out to be two benign cysts! I am, of course, incredibly happy about that! However there was some inflamed tissue surrounding the cysts and the Oncologist said that although she was hopeful... she couldn't rule out lymphoma in her liver. So, the "no news" is that we still don't really know what we're dealing with and, it will be several days until we get the results back.

DCIN has only raised $115 so far. We would like to be able to provide more. If you can help us do that, please click the chip in on this page. If you don't have the cash to help, we and Michelle and Angel are definitely taking prayers and healing vibes.

An update on this fundraising. Michelle's and DCIN's friends have given an amazing $415 so far to help with last week's surgery. You people are AMAZING!!

And a message from Michelle that was posted on DCIN's Facebook page.

I'm not sure what the etiquette is in this situation, but I need to tell you all how very much I appreciate DCIN for doing this and all of you for your support - both financial and emotional.

I understand that things are tight for a lot of us right now... so even if you feel like you can't or don't want to chip-in, please know that I am so grateful for all of your good wishes, prayers and support.

I echo Michelle's statement about good wishes, prayers, and support. Those help so much when a cat's health looks bleak. They have already helped with bringing the good news about the benign cysts.

I will most definately contribute not only financially, but with prayers and good vines for sweet Angel and lots of hugs for Michelle, too! cat_pet_icon - for Angel and :YMHUG: for Michelle
