Frank was at the vet yesterday for his 2nd weekly follow up since diagnosis. She was a little concerned that I shot higher than what she recommended last week (she told me 2U but with the Relion testing, and help from this forum, we bumped to 2.25 and 2.5). She knows I'm home testing, really doesn't want me to use a human meter, and recommended the Henry Schein meter, which is what they use in their office. The meter is only $25, so it's not a crazy cost, but the strips are 50 for $50. Anyone have any advice on this, or ideas on where I can get strips cheaper? She was willing to do numbers over the phone and make shot recommendations only if I'm using a pet meter (which I guess I kind of understand). She probably doesn't want to give medical advice on a meter that isn't calibrated for kitties.
Thoughts on the Henry Schein meter, the strips, and advice on how I would change my spreadsheet if I do switch meters is super appreciated! (PS...Frank's numbers do seem to be coming down, other than the HI the other night, so YAY!)
