Hi, here updating Mermelada's numbers, all this past week got great results, but today got a little bit higher, reaching blue now :(

Yesterday, I noticed that his upper lip was swollen with a little zone teared apart, it looks like a allergic reaction but I don't have idea for what, could be the food but he has been eating it for almost three weeks now

I suspect the food because his scratching and licking got more constant when he started eating that, but vet told me that it could be some stress for changing food, at first his furr started to fall again but in less than a week grown back and actually today he grown almost in all his bald areas, I though that it could be stress because of that, he just have scratching and licking (less than when we sarted with this food but still constant2) but no falling furr, no red areas just some times when he liks a lot in one area but always fade away in less than hour, yesterday got his lip swollen, no bumps

Also could be some reaction to a spider, bug or frog, we are gertting aaaa lot of those during this rainy days, because his lip grown in this past days, but I don't know

I don't know what to do with his food I could be makikg his food, but I don't know if I would be able to do so :( yesterday I bought cans of wellness grain free to try and change to wet food but I don't know if I should wait a couple of days just to find out if that swolen lip is for his food or some bug/frog he found out in the garden

also, I'll be testing his BG again at two hours after food to see his levels and update

what do you think friends? and thank you all for your time!

Hi. First as to the blue AMBG. It is still normal. Grab a test in 3-4 hours after eating and see if it comes down. Get a PMBG test each night. It can be at any time.

Can you take a picture of the lip? It could be any of those things but I wonder if it’s EGC which one of my young cats has. I will send you a link with pictures. What type of protein is she eating? For my cat it goes away when I switch to a new never eaten protein. If the new food has any of a protein eaten in the past it won’t work. I’ll be back with the link.

I'll check and update 3-4 hours then, thank you a lot and hopping to kipping low

He is eating Virbac dry Neutered&Entire the main protein is salmon but it has protein from a lot different animals, (pork, birds, and animals in general I think, I hate that doesn't specifies) I know that for allergic the best is to stay with just one protein, but I choosed this one because it says that the protein is hydrolyzed, and has low glycemic index

But i think isn't working for him

That’s what it is! EGC. You may have success if you can get a single novel protein. Know you are in Mexico. In the US we have lots of raw food companies. I’m feeding Mocha venison right now. If you can buy a protein she’s never eaten at the market and can find a vitamin supplement t add to it you might be able to get rid of it. Otherwise the options medically aren’t great. One is steroids, not good fir a diabetic. Even though she is diet controlled she’s still a diabetic. The other drug, atopica, seems to have lots of side effects.

OMGGGGGG so beautiful news <3 hopping to find the perfect food for him and staying this low most we can
I can't open the image, it said that the page is down temporally

Thank you thank you thank you @tiffmaxee for alwas helping us since day one

All this diabetic problem started with his allergies :( because of that the first vet started cortisone shots, then with a DermSpecialist started a new treatment with rabbit meat, and just got worst, lost more than 4lb in less than a month, didn't eat and vomits, falling furr in legs and belly, and got diabetic in top of everything

I bought the wellness can with just chicken components because when he was at just boiled chicken his scratching and licking was super light, he didn't eat boiled for more than a month, so I can't assure that it was all gone, but it was a lot better than this virbac

What I don't know, should I implement this new can little by little with the virbac or just changed it due of his allergie?

IF it’s caused by food it’s likely the protein. Anything in the current food can’t be given. You need to switch cold Turkey and give it two months without any other food if it makes them go away. Sometimes it’s something in the environment which I hope is not the case. It can also go away on its own. Mocha started with this at less than a year old. It can and went so I didn’t look into it at first. Then it finally showed up when I could see my vet. He confirmed what I found on the internet. I isolated one protein and it went away. I made the mistake of trying all four she had been eating and ruined beef, chicken, pork and turkey by bringing each back. She was then on rabbit and got dermatitis plus was losing weight because rabbit is so low in calories. She’s now eating venison. I’d love to make my own. Well maybe not love to but would do it if I could find a supplement that doesn’t contain what she can’t eat. It’s a hard thing to find. If Mermalada can eat chicken there are good supplements provided you can get them in your city.

So with chicken she was okay?

It was just boiled fresh chicken I bought at wallmart for him, just a little bit of salt and was it, he was happy eating that tho hehe

Nooo, poor Mocha, you're a great mom! And I'm surprised that I'm having similar problems :o , that thing you said about ruined, was because you gave them to him at the same time? Like what im doing with virbac? :(

Because ACTUALLY
I wanted to try just turkey, from the instinct LID but the dry one has soooo many carbs, the wet one is super expensive for me and I think it is a little bit high in carbs than others cans, idk

But now im worry that this virbac could contain turkey (in the back said just "birds") and kinda spoiled his resistance? Haha is that possible? :(

Yes,I ruined the trial by trying to figure out which protein caused the issues. As a kitten I fed turkey cat food and some cooked chicken so one or both was likely the initial cause. I later read I should have stuck with just one for a couple months. I was trying not to feed too much of a single protein to avoid food intolerances. It’s a hard thing to concur and you need lower carbs too. I want to try and avoid having another diabetic so I’m keeping them on low carbs as well.

Dear god, well, I'm hopping that didn't ruin much with this virbac brand :(
