Hi does anyone know if I can put cerenia or buprenephrine into the y port on the line coming down from the iv ringers line? I cant think of a better idea as my cat HATES being pilled and poked every day...my vet said no but once again l run into the problem of trusting his opinion...I have talked to so many vets in past two months both in person and online and I cant seem to find any of them to agree on things...

For Cerinia yes, it can be given through the y-port.
No for buprenephrine since it has to be absorbed through the mucus membranes of the mouth. Buprenephrine is not absorbed through the GI tract

thank you!!my kitty hates the cerenia needle like nothing else (except the pill!)...can i just dissolve the pill in some of the ringers fluid or tap water? and then put it in the little tube on the y port?....i also have cerenia in liquid form at the moment ...would it be just a matter of then injecting the fluid directly into the same 'y tube"...I was sort of assuming thats what that little y port was for (meds)...this would save him so much stress!!thank you!
my vet never told me bup needed to be absorbed by my cats gums!! omgosh...I have been trying my best to directly get the meds down his throat as he HATES the taste...oh no...how do you make this happen??
