Hello! :coffee::cat:

if anyone can offer, plz lmk:

Fur nugget’s bigger meals are made PS (naturally i guess?) w nice breakfast and dinner, and small meals/snacks in between (especially when green) ~ how much tho is enough food for PS? how much is enough for feeding snacks for greens? i try to make sure he eats his bigger meals, esp cuz PS, around 1/4 + 1/8 can.. but what is enough? :) and for feeding greens, i just give snacks around 3 tsp or so (sometimes more haha..) ~ is this all cool? or what amounts are generally ok?..

and ive been practicing this a while, but for some reason im nervous and am doubting what i think i know and know i was guided/told in before but cant recall :blackeye:, know once numbers increasing (when green) can stop snacks, AND.. this also applies when flat (number staying same relatively consecutive tests..) right???

trying to remember everything all the time haha. but also cant recall if got an answer when flat, the same relatively..

.. appreciate any advices. :bookworm:

hi, Do not be nervous, to get an idea see my Corky's Spreadsheet in the Remarks at the end of the page, I document every meal and how much, every cat is different but I found that 2 main meals on AMPS/PMPS and two small/snacks works for my Corky, as long as it is low carbs between 0-10% carbs:bighug::bighug::cat::cat:;)

My cat has 8 small meals per day because she has IBD. I was told this was ideal because you don’t want them to go too long without any food when taking insulin. So snacks between bigger meals are good. As for how much look at the calories in the food. Adult cats should eat about 20kcal per pound of weight. So a 10lb cat would need about 200kcal per day. But it also depends on age and how much energy they have. Senior cats need less calories, kittens need more. If you can weigh your cat at home every week you’ll know how much his weight is changing and whether you are feeding the right amount of food or not.

How much food do you give before the shots @kitten68 ?
for breakfast/dinner (PS) i try to get 1/4 + 1/8 of 5 oz. can.. at least 1/4, and more if he wants. is that enough?.. then he gets +1-2 snacks for front loading.. and also snacks for greens, do base it off kcals always, but just am wondering what sizes/portions are good enough in these instances.. how big can/should they be (breakfast/dinner PS, front load snacks, snacks for greens)? :)

How much does he weigh and how many calories in each of the cans.?

hii thanks for responses!! :bighug:was just thinking like.. whats enough to get the shot going i guess haha, but since bigger meals of the day anyway is prolly more than fine ~ a nice breakfast and dinner.. thinking 1/4 to 1/4 +1/8 of a can (5.5 oz) is good enough; has been well :) even think 1/4 is enough.. but lmk if might have an idea based on that :cat::coffee: am feeding within weight (maybe even a little more.. poor nugget just went hungry and starved for some time.. so upsetting :( if hes hungry im glad to let him eat.. he definitely stops when done. also find its kinda unavoidable, feeding the curve and greens and all that.. :/ but do try to stay within range)

@Bron and Sheba (GA)

@CORKY aw thanks for lmk! :bighug: right.. yeah. it varies here.. i been giving two big ones and then snacks, smaller meals :cat::cat:.. eh? haha
