Me again...Need advice

Ok. My Brogan is used to taking 7U twice a day. Last night I gave 0U. I'm going to test him in about 30 mins and post the results. If at all possible I'd like advice if I should shoot 1U this am...please look out for the test results. THANKS!

I would give one units. I would have also given one unit last night

Are you going to be talking to your vet about changing insulin today Tish?

Have you gotten rid of any high carb food?

I think it's fine for you to give the 1 unit this morning but we're going to need to watch closely for signs that it's not enough.

Hopefully your vet will give you a script for one of the better insulins, like Lantus or Levemir (or ProZinc) so we can see how a longer acting insulin will do for Brogan

Well flip...I smelled a bit of insulin on his fur so I'm not sure he even got the 1U...but time will tell. Thanks!!!

is ok! we all have done that, just no redo! I would think a +2 will tell you what happened.

I actually think with most fur shots, some still makes it into the skin.

I always stroke dweezil's head and neck after the shot to see if i can feel or smell anything. I find that if even some of it gets on the fur, it smells very strongly of that bandaid-y insulin smell.

Yes...I'm learning. LOL I had a stroke and brain bleed back in April '14...and the past few days have made me think sooo much...I've gotten a headache! But I love my Brogan and worth 1,000,000 headaches!
