Well, I have been gone a bit. Posted on yesterday's condo instead of today's! Same message here, though. Vines for a nice safe surf for the boy...something in a safe, comy green. And tons of vines for you Elise.

Marilyn and Polly

Hugs Elise! Max is looking really good. Fingers crossed for a nice easy surf today. I followed along on your post on meters. I hadn't had that issue with huge variances until the bread incident the other morning. Makes a person wonder just how far off these meters are.

Thanks Rhiannon. So far so good.

Jen, I know better than to recheck but when I got readings 70 points higher after onset it just didn't feel right. That is what got me going. It happened again last night but my second back-up and second reading matched exactly. Because I was trying to bring all his numbers down a little even though he's doing okay it got me worried that I could end up with overdosing. Then I started thinking perhaps he's higher overall. I'm just not going to pay much attention if I get an odd reading and see what happens the next test.

I hope you are feeling better Marilyn.

So the rotten moody weekend caregiver is a no show again. We just have to find a replacement. :banghead::eek:

Max is looking fabulous. Some caregiver...more like a 'don't care giver'.

Yes. Good ones are hard to come by and super expensive too. Our other two have their faults axin always on their computers but rarely fail to show up.

Max has been very quiet lately. Not sure why.

Thanks for stopping by everyone I'm at my mom's house and she is sleeping. I don't know if this antibiotic is working.

Sorry to hear you're having such trouble with the caregiver, Elise! I've been lucky that the one I hired for mom is very dependable as well as willing to do just about anything we ask of her, but she's a "private hire" and not through any agency, so she knew what I needed her to be willing to do before I hired her.

Never have had much luck with the agency caregivers....of course they don't pay them very well and the "good ones" are overworked

Sure hope Max perks up for you! I know how worrying it is when there's just something "off" and we can't really put our fingers on what it is!

Our caregivers aren't from agencies either. Thus last one that keeps flaking was a reccomendation from someone my sister met when my mom was in rehab after creaking her shoulder and arm. She hasn't fit in from the beginning but we haven't heard about anyone to replace her yet. The one that's been with us the longest my mom adores but she wants to do less and less. She knows we won't let her go and takes advantage. Sorry for the vent.

What we did was put an ad in the newspaper...did initial "interviews" over the phone and then had the best sounding ones come out to meet & greet.....was easier to get a "feeling" for them face to face.

Hope you can find one that will be dependable as well as get along well with DM!

No need to apologize for the vent!! We all understand how much you have on your plate and you need to be able to blow off some steam somewhere....Noplace better than here!! I've had my fair share of rants too!

Vent away. That's what we're here for. I haven't had to experience personally what you are dealing with now with your DM, but I've had friends and family members in similar situations, and I know how frustrating it can be. My aunt and uncle, who were the kindest, most generous people you'd ever want to meet had one who stole from them. My uncle's response? "Why didn't she tell me she needed money? I'd have given it to her!"

I hope you find someone to take her place that lives up to the title. Meanwhile, vines for your DM and :bighug: for you.

Max, Cinco was so excited that he got to hang out with you in the lagoon today. You two need to spend more time together! :D

Sending lots of hugs to you Elise! Max is looking good though!

I sure hope you are able to find a reliable care giver soon! We are lucky that my sister, who happens to be a Registered Nurse, lives with our parents.....not sure what we would do if she wasn't there!
