Hey everyone,

Martin's BG numbers for the past couple of days are getting really bad and aren't making any sense. At nadir he's barely dropping at all, or in some cases even going up. We tried giving him a little more insulin last night to see if that would help, but it looks like that caused a bounce that put him at 572 pre-shot this morning. We're not sure what to do - any suggestions?

He is a difficult kitty to figure out. I think we suggested small frequent meals last time you posted. Have you tried that? He does seem to do better at the lower doses, but he is very inconsistent. One thing that might help us all see a clearer picture is to get some nadir numbers at night. Is there a chance he goes low and that this amps was a huge bounce? The one inverse curve (higher numbers at nadir than preshot) tends to be a signal of too much insulin, but he has only had the one - not a pattern.

I'd suggest setting the alarm and getting some nadir numbers at night, plus a before bed number any time you can. Maybe that will help explain things.....

Wish you knew what his nadir was last night. This really doesn't make a lot of sense to me, .5 leaves him good some days but not on others and anything more takes him really low or really high.

What if he's actually really sensitive to insulin, like reaaaaaaaaally sensitive like my cat was? Maybe he could have some bounce in him most of the time and maybe the increase to .6 or .7 is enough to break through those hormones and then the numbers tank and he really bounces? Since going up in dose doesn't seem to work unless you just have to do it and wait for those high ps to hopefully come down, what does everyone think about trying a lot less...like 0.2u? Very confusing.
