Her spreadsheet is up and running. I will appreciate it so much if some of you would be willing to help me monitor all of this. I deeply appreciate your help because, as you know, sometimes this can be overwhelming. With Martha, it's hard to tell sometimes.....is her BG getting low or is it a heart issue going bad? etc etc. Yesterday her eyes looked like they did the night her BG dropped to 47--I started getting scared, jumped up and gave her food. She did look better after she ate.

If you see that look again, grab your meter and test her. It could be that her bg was low again, which could indicate her dose needs to be lowered. But the only way to know is to check her bg. If it was that low, you would also want to test her again every 20-30 minutes to make sure it doesn't drop back down. It also depends when it was during her cycle. If it was around the time of nadir, it is more likely that her numbers would continue to climb. But if it was early in the cycle, you would have to monitor closely, for several hours,, possibly. Your best weapon in this would be your meter.

Is a "funny look" in the eyes typical of hypo?

I've heard people say their cats had a look in their eyes, but have never seen it myself. Glassy eyed, huge pupils, trouble focusing (basically the classic "stoned" look?).

Symptoms of hypoglycemia: [in order of ascending severity]

abnormal hunger / complete disinterest in food
restlessness
weakness, lethargy
head tilting
shivering
staggering, uncoordinated movements
problems with eyesight
disorientation (yowling, walking in circles, hiding, etc.)
convulsions or seizures
coma
This list is by no means exhaustive; cats have also been known to be very sleepy, drool, vomit, or have glassy eyes. Be aware of behavior from your cat that is uncommon, but don't fret every time your pet gives you a single funny look.
