Are there any issues with giving Marshmallow Root to a diabetic cat?

Unfortunately my cat suffers from bad acid reflux and the Famotidine tablets that he was on have stopped working. I know there's slippery elm bark but we already tried that and he didn't react well to it.

I've read that marshmallow root can really help with reflux but want to know it's safe for him first.

I did ask on Facebook a while ago but no one gave me an answer.

Yes, I used MMR. I used the same formula as SEB.

I didn't make a batch but individual, as-needed doses. 1/8-1/4 teaspoon of MMR with HOT water, enough to make a slurry (1-1 1/2 tablespoon), then microwave it for about 10 sec and let it sit till it cooled a bit and added it to food, but you can syringe it if needed.

This is the brand I currently have.

ETA-I didn't notice any issues with MMR on bg levels, I did with SEB, it was why I switched.

Thanks so much for giving me an answer and suggested dosing instructions. I'd asked in multiple groups but couldn't seem to get an answer.

However, I have just tried your method but I didn't get a slurry, it just stayed as disolved marshmallow root in water. What did I do wrong?

Thank you, but it isn't the same thing. Marshmallow root is a component of the plant that contains qualities comparable to slippery elm bark. I'm not sure how it impacts glucose levels, but it's totally safe to feed to cats.
