So for those who don't know, here's a little time-line of Marleys experience with diabetes.
November 14th : Marley goes to the vet for excess drinking and peeing as his only symptoms. They take blood work and send him home with antibiotics because they think he has an infection.
November 16th: Vet calls back saying that his blood glucose levels are extremely high, 25, and he has diabetes.
November 17th: Pick up Cansulin and begin giving 3u every 12 hours. Vet in particular recommends not home testing. We slowly transition to an all wet food diet.
November 26th: I start home testing and seeing some pretty crazy low numbers in the middle of the day.
November 28th: Vet recommends 2u if under 16, and 3u above 16 and no shot if under 8. After this, I only gave him one insulin shot.
November 30th: He goes for his curve and vet says to stop all insulin unless he is above a 16. Marley had perfectly good numbers all day. I supposed to test only once a day for the next week or so and after that only once a week. This is only to monitor if his numbers go back up.
So either Marley didn't have diabetes to begin with or hes already towards remission in exactly two weeks.
I wasn't able to test him morning, he was very very resistent and as a result didn't give him any insulin. So I'm wondering what it'll be like in the next few weeks.
