Diabetic Cats in Need (DCIN)

Mandy is an insulin-dependent, Lynx Point Siamese with blue eyes, around 12 years old, living in the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland shelter. You can read more about her on the DCIN blog here.

Hey Venita,

If we can't find her a home through here, what about contacting the Siamese cat rescue. I know they have taken in diabetics and treated them while looking for a furever home.

A BG in the 200s on a meezer in a shelter situation isn't that uncommon I would think, since Meezers by an large don't do well in those kind of high stress situations. I know even my civie meezers will throw those kind of numbers even at the vets.

I have given the shelter my suggestion for contacting the eastern region of Siamese Rescue, and I have posted Mandy on their Yahoo group page. It doesn't appear that the Eastern Region has a Facebook Page. Thanks for your suggestion.

A friend of mine does transports for Siamese Rescue and I have forwarded this to her. Hopefully they will be able to help.
