So today Buddy is perfect-happy, playful, amps 272, +6 =72....I'm stunned b/c NOTHING was done!
vet yesterday,no meds, only Bup shot, but i didnt give him one today since hes fine.
there are 3 possibilities: 1)this morning the syringe didnt go into his skin,(has this ever happened to anyone?)
his fur was wet, and bubbles on tip of syringe, so i gave him a 2nd shot of 1U instead of 1.25...perhaps that was the ideal dose but no idea what I gvae him, really.
or 2) he knows i have plans for tonight and he has plans also-to go so low so that i would need to cancel and stay home with him.
or 3) I think i read Dr.Lisa believes sometimes UTI clears up on its own, maybe i just needed to wait another day
BEFORE SPENDING $400
of course,I like one and three best.

We've all had similar happen, but you got good tests done, so it was worth it.

I hope he doesn't go too much lower on you. Are you sure about the fur shot? At least you gave a little less the second time, not sure if you're using 1/2 needles? Those are capable of giving through and through shots, where needle pokes back out the skin. That is the cause of most fur shots, rather than needle not going in at all.

On Health the recommendation on fur shots is usually to not give the shot again, as you can't be sure they didn't get some insulin.

And of course he's doing this because you need to leave! That's Cat Rule #52. Haven't you read the handbook?
;-)

LOL..
i will be home for 3 more hours, then need to leave. Is it better to wait till i come back at pmps +5 to give the shot, (if he is under 200), or give a .5 at +12
before I leave? Thanks.

Why wouldn't you give a full dose at +12? Because you won't be home? It's always better to give something than wait till +17 or something. At least give him the .5U if you aren't comfortable giving more.
