We came on here about one year ago, when Maisey was diagnosed with diabetes. With the help of everyone here, she was soon OTJ.
Now, we are facing weight loss from hyperthyroidism. She now joins her litter mate Vinney & Pumpkin. They all started loosing weight around the same time. Maisey was worst, then Pumpkin who actually became less Pumpkin and more cat then Vinney. more gradually loosing bulk. It was a shock to see Maisey loosing weight again, when her BG has been so good. I guess too good 40-62, so I should have known something was up.
Just an update and a Hello.

Have you started treating for thyroid yet? My civvie Slappy has been on thyroid meds rubbed in the ear 1 time a day since Aug. Her numbers came down alot and she is acting better. Our new vet has just increased the amount to 2 times a day for 3 wks. and then we will go in to ck again.
She is eating about 4-6 cans of ff a day - once in the am, then as much as I will let her eat in the pm. She is loosing weight and the new vet feels we need to increase the amount and see if this will help.

I've told the Vet umpteen times this last year that treating Maisey's diabetes was 10 times easier than giving my other two the pills for their hyperthyroidism. Now the Atopica liquid for Vinney's horrific allergies is even worse than the pills, who knew? Got a first start on the meds, but will have to wait for rechecks probably longer than the vet likes, but she is improving so I'm not worried if not perfect yet. Still need to get Vinney under better control.
