Hi all. Kitten had extensive bloodwork done last week including a complete urinalysis and a fructosamine check. Her bloodwork came back good and the BG average was 386 which has increased from 359 last month. Kitten was finally having some good days, but last night she had a strange episode. I do not know if it was hypo or pain( maybe from her tumors). She hissed and growled when I picked her up at insulin time. She never does this. After the injection, she was very agitated, lying on floor and slamming tail. Her eyes were wide and at times closed. Her BPM were about 31 but I could hear her breathing through her nose. She had been a little off during the day. Sleeping alot, not eating and drinking as much, and not interested in playing as much later in evening. She is still hiding on rhe bathroom toilet. It has been hours. I gave her a pain med for the first time. The dose was tiny but she is still wide awake with big eyes. I have no idea what is going on with her. She just had an exam and all this testing. Any ideas?

Could be the pain meds. Do you know what was give and how much?
Hi. She was acting in distress before I gave her .5ml of Buprenorphine .324mg concentration. The prescribed dose was .1ml. I gave her another .5 ml at 2am because she still seemed in distress. She is still om the toilet. She only gets off to eat or use the box. If I look at her, she licks her lips. Like she is afraid I will pick her up for pilling or inhaler tx. It is very strange behavior for her. She has been in there since 9:30pm last night. I am perplexed!

Did you mean to say that you gave her half the prescribed dose and gave her 0.05ml? or 5 times the prescribed dose?
