Hi Again, my boy is 5.4 12hrs after 1 unit lantus pmps he has had great numbers all day, Also been on 1 unit for 6 consecutive doses do I skip or halve dose tonight ? I held off for 20 mins but have fed him as it's getting to late and I risk him not eating. Thankyou
 
Hi Colleen, have you stalled, not fed and ready to test again in 20 minutes?
Sorry have just seen that you have fed him.
Did you retest after the 20 mins?
 
You shot a 5.4 (97) a few days ago in the 29/4 And gave 1.5 units.
So I think you would be ok to give the 1 unit providing Pantera is eating well and you have enough strips and can test tonight if necessary. And have some high carb food.
 
I was reading the tight shoot and was thinking he should be ok. Yes I have strips. He seems to be holding the lower numbers in green today. I think he may need to go lower soon. Thank you just good to know someone is out there with support.

I’ll be around if you need me. He is looking incredibly good for a newly diagnosed cat. If you get a low lower preshot tonight make sure you test until he starts to come back up. And remember you can manipulate the cycle with food if needed.
 
Hi Bron, haven't re tested only just gave the lantus 7.20pm, 1 unit he ate prior to pm shot. I don't know why but I am more nervous than last time. Think the more knowledge I gain the more nervous I get.

Yes, I’m sure that is the case. I was looking back a couple of days ago at the numbers Sheba had when she had diabetes the first time before she went into remission....this was before I knew about the forum. I would shoot a 4.2 and not test for hours and then only once until the next shot and she was in low greens most of the time. Ignorance is bliss......or maybe it’s not..
 
Colleen I meant to add it would be a good idea to get a test in early in the cycle such as a + 2 (which should be coming up soon) to check he isn’t dropping low early in the cycle.
